News release from the City of Fort Wayne:
Leaf Collection Update: Crews Move to Central Fort Wayne on Friday
Leaf collection crews will move into central Fort Wayne beginning Friday October 27, 2011. The crews finished a day ahead of schedule in the northern part of the City and the move will allow them to stay on schedule. Although leaf crews will be working in the central part of the City tomorrow, they will be making a complete sweep through all central Fort Wayne neighborhoods during the week of October 31. Working in the central area on Friday will allow the crews to get a head start on next week by picking up leaves that residents have already raked.
Remember, where possible leaves should be raked to the park strip area – not into the street. Please refrain from placing leaves in ditch lines or between parked cars. This will slow down the pick up process for the crews.
For daily updates of crew locations, please check. The site has the latest information about where crews will be on a particular day. Residents may also call the leaf hotline at 427-2302.
To schedule a pick-up with biodegradable bags, residents can call 3-1-1.
