National Higher Education Fair to be held in Fort Wayne

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (September 13, 2011) — High school students and adults seeking post-graduate and degree-completion opportunities will have the opportunity to meet with Christian college and university representatives from across North America during a national college fair in Fort Wayne on Sept. 26, 2011.

The fair is sponsored by the North American Coalition for Christian Admission Professionals (NACCAP) and hosted by Huntington University. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Community Church, 12222 U.S. Highway 24 West.

“This is a great opportunity to have a number of Christian colleges from all over the region and beyond come to one location and have their representatives available to prospective students and their families,” said Chant Thompson, executive director of NACCAP. “The format for the fair is such that those in attendance may talk to whichever school or schools they choose.”

New to the event this year is a Higher Education Fair where graduate schools, seminaries and degree-completion program representatives will be available for meetings with prospective adult students. Thompson said this portion of the event is needed in order to serve the adult population – both for those considering post-graduate degrees and those wanting to finish associate and bachelor’s degrees.

As in years past, parents and students can attend sessions designed to inform them about the undergraduate financial aid process. One session will be held at 6:45 p.m. with a second session at 7:45 p.m.

“The financial aid workshops available during the fair are held so that parents can pick up the latest information on making the whole college experience feasible and affordable,” Thompson said. “This economy has people wondering how they can afford Christian higher education – this is a perfect time for them to ask questions and get the materials they need.”

For more information about the fair, visit www.nccf.us or contact Amy Mattox, coordinator of the Fort Wayne Christian College Fair, at 260-414-5101 or amy@naccap.org. This event is free and open to the public.
