Apartment Association offers educational opportunities to all
The Apartment Association of Fort Wayne-NE Indiana (AAFW-NEI) has released its fall schedule of educational programs designed for area individuals employed in the multi-family rental industry. September offerings include:
Learning Locks
September 15, 2011 (8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)
Windsor Oaks Apartments, 10001 Pin Oak Circle
Instructors: Giovanny Vega, Windsor Oaks and Lowell Lepper, FCL Shop
Who Should Attend: Maintenance PersonnelJoin our instructors as they walk through all the basics as well as how to effectively troubleshoot problems. Topics include making keys, re-keying and repining locks, key control, tracking and storage and more!
Resident Relations: A Brainstorming & Idea Sharing Class

Who Should Attend: Managers & LeasingPlanning fun events and resident meetings, promoting them, and getting people to attend can be a challenge. Join us to learn some new tips and techniques from our expert, Camille Garrison, Marketing Director for Kingston Healthcare. Breakout groups will allow attendees to share some of their most successful ideas as well as get feedback for their most challenging areas. All attendees will receive a complete copy of the ideas from all the groups following the class. In addition, be sure to bring your best idea for resident relations, including events and promotion, and be entered to win!
Educational programs are open to both members and non-members of the Association. The programs listed above are each FREE to Education 2011 Subscribers (see catalogue for details), $45 for each non-subscriber attendee, or $90 per person for those who do not currently belong to the Association.

Advance registration is required and all courses will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition to the regular fall educational programming, the Association will also offer a 10 Hour OSHA Safety Course. A 10% discount will be given to 2011 Education Subscribers.
10 Hour OSHA Safety Course
November 9-10, 2011 (8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) Both days are required.

Instructor: Frank Gulley, IVY Tech
This course addresses on-the-job safety and health practices complying with OSHA regulations. Students that complete the course will receive a 10-hour card from OSHA.
Minimum number of students for the AAFW to hold the course is 10.
Maximum Cost/Student: $269
If more than 20 students register, the cost is $249.
If more than 30 students register, the cost is $229.
