News release from the Allen County Board of Commissioners:
“County Night Out” Events Slated for Fall
Harlan, Monroeville & Huntertown area to debut new format
(September 6, 2011) — The Allen County Commissioners’ office today announced plans for “County Night Out” — a new way of bringing County government directly to residents.
The events will feature an open-house format designed to allow citizens the opportunity to meet the Commissioners and other elected officeholders face-to-face and obtain information about programs and services offered by various County departments. Some of the departments which will be represented at the meetings include the County Sheriff, Highway Department, NIRCC, County Treasurer, Building Department, the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department and the Department of Planning Services.
“We’ve retooled the ‘Commissioners Night Out’ format to showcase more of our County offices and departments,” said Commissioner Nelson Peters. “Also, the less-formal structure will give residents the chance to stop by at any time during the event and spend as much time as they like getting answers to questions and learning how County government can serve them.”
The dates and locations for the three “County Night Out” events this fall are:
· Tuesday, September 20 in Harlan at the Community Park Shelter on 2nd Street.;
· Thursday, October 6 in Monroeville’s at the Cornerstone Youth Center, 19819 Monroeville Road; and
· Tuesday, October 18 in the Jack McComb Building at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2726 Carroll Road, near Huntertown.All “County Night Out” events start at 6:30 p.m. and end by 8:00 p.m.
