American Heart Association seeks lifestyle change award nominations
(September 7, 2011) – The American Heart Association is soliciting nominations for its annual Lifestyle Change Awards sponsored by Ft. Wayne Cardiology. Local companies are encouraged to have employees and families provide nominations. Individuals can also nominate themselves.
All applicants will be celebrated and one individual honored on stage at the Northeast Indiana Heart Walk on September 17 at Parkview Field.
Whether they have lost weight, started to eat better or improved their cholesterol levels through exercise and diet, the Lifestyle Change Award recipient is chosen as an inspiration to others to improve their health. No change is too small.
Nomination forms can be downloaded at(Participant Resources and Tools) or by contacting . The deadline to submit nominations is Monday, September 12, 2011.
Heart disease and stroke are the number one and three killers of Americans, although they are largely preventable. Proper lifestyle choices include eating a healthy diet, regular exercise and abstinence from smoking as the best weapons to fight cardiovascular disease.
The Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun family environment. Enjoy a 1 or 3 mile walk, children’s activities, educational booths and more Participation in this free event is a great way to promote health and wellness in our community while helping to raise critically needed funds for lifesaving research and programs.
