News release from The Lutheran Schools:
The Lutheran Schools Partnership Near its Goal for Tuition Assistance Match
$11,000 of $25,000 Match Raised as of August 15
The Lutheran Schools Partnership has raised $11,000 towards its $1 for $1, up to $25,000, matching grant challenge from The Lutheran Foundation for its new Tuition Assistance Program.
“The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is designed to make Lutheran education more affordable at our partner schools,” explains Mark Muehl, director of The Lutheran Schools Partnership, a coalition of 17 Northeast Indiana Lutheran elementary schools and Concordia Lutheran High School. “Working with each of the schools, the Tuition Assistance Program will extend the availability of funds specifically targeted for need-based tuition assistance and will help the partner schools enhance their own tuition assistance programs. Over 1,000 students received tuition assistance during the 2010-2011 school year, and we are expecting an even larger need this school year.”
“And,” reminds Muehl, “even with the current Voucher activities in the state, there is still a great need for tuition assistance for families that do not meet the Voucher criteria, including families already attending one of our partner schools and families with incomes just above the limits but have been affected by the poor economy.”
Please call The Partnership at 260-241-4845, email at, or visit our website at to help meet the challenge match.
The Lutheran Schools Partnership serves 17 area Lutheran elementary schools and Concordia Lutheran High School.
The fundamental purpose of The Lutheran Schools Partnership is to provide value-added services to support and develop the Lutheran schools of northeast Indiana. The Partnership does not exercise authority in the administration of The Lutheran Schools; instead, its goal is to provide additional services and to promote cooperation that will enhance the already-formidable offerings found through the Lutheran Schools.
What We Do:
The Partnership delivers programs and services within the three following Strategic Imperatives: Enrollment Growth, Academic Excellence, and Developing Funding Sources/Advancement. The Partnership will work to raise the profile of the Lutheran schools, develop a systematic approach to implementing best practices among the partner schools, elevate the opportunities for enrollment and funding growth, promote technology leadership, and develop the skills of the teachers and administrators.
In 2006, True North Strategic Advisors, LLC was contracted by the Lutheran Foundation of Fort Wayne, Indiana to analyze its granting efforts in its first ten years of existence, including an analysis of how the Foundation had impacted Lutheran schools in Northeastern Indiana. One of the recommendations of the study was for the Foundation to fund a consortium of Lutheran schools to provide services in the areas of enrollment growth, academic excellence, and advancement.
