News release from The Lutheran Schools:
The Lutheran Schools Partnership Near its Goal for Tuition Assistance Match
$11,000 of $25,000 Match Raised as of August 15
The Lutheran Schools Partnership has raised $11,000 towards its $1 for $1, up to $25,000, matching grant challenge from The Lutheran Foundation for its new Tuition Assistance Program.
“The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is designed to make Lutheran education more affordable at our partner schools,” explains Mark Muehl, director of The Lutheran Schools Partnership, a coalition of 17 Northeast Indiana Lutheran elementary schools and Concordia Lutheran High School. “Working with each of the schools, the Tuition Assistance Program will extend the availability of funds specifically targeted for need-based tuition assistance and will help the partner schools enhance their own tuition assistance programs. Over 1,000 students received tuition assistance during the 2010-2011 school year, and we are expecting an even larger need this school year.”
“And,” reminds Muehl, “even with the current Voucher activities in the state, there is still a great need for tuition assistance for families that do not meet the Voucher criteria, including families already attending one of our partner schools and families with incomes just above the limits but have been affected by the poor economy.”
Please call The Partnership at 260-241-4845, email at markm@tlspartnership.org, or visit our website at www.thelutheranschools.org to help meet the challenge match.
