Shopping Spree Planned by Organization Devoted to Helping Children with Special Needs
Active 20-30 Club expecting to assist 70 kids during annual event

A group of young adults focused on making a difference by improving the lives of area children will be holding its ninth annual Children’s Shopping Spree on Wednesday, August 3, and Thursday, August 4. The Active 20-30 Club of Fort Wayne will be teaming up with 70 kids from Big Brothers Big Sisters to help them select much needed items and clothing for the upcoming school year. As an added bonus, several players from the Fort Wayne TinCaps are also scheduled to be on hand to help the students get ready for a successful return to the classroom.

Each child will be paired with a club member and given $100 to spend in the store. At the conclusion of the evening, each participant also gets a backpack full of essential and fun school supplies provided by Active 20-30.

Both shopping sprees will take place at Kohl’s. Please note that the participants have already been designated by Big Brothers Big Sisters and the activities are not open to the general public.

Its membership accomplishes this mission through hands-on events and direct financial contributions to local advocacy organizations that assist and influence the lives of children by making them more enriched and fulfilled.

In addition to a strong philanthropic focus, members find Active 20-30 to be a great way to learn valuable leadership skills, network, and make new friends.

Mission Statement: The Active 20-30 Club of Fort Wayne provides young adults with an opportunity for personal growth, friendship, and leadership development, while improving the quality of life for the special needs children in our community.

The Active 20-30 Club of Fort Wayne is able sustain its important work through the generous contributions of area residents and businesses. Much of its annual funding is secured during its signature Puttin’ on the Ritz fundraiser held each March.
