News release from Congressman Marlin Stutzman:
Stutzman Protests President’s Leadership
(Washington, D.C. – April 14, 2011) – Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN-03) voted against the compromise FY2011 budget in protest of the actions of President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Reid.
“This vote was not against Speaker Boehner’s efforts,” stated Stutzman “Speaker Boehner worked very hard to achieve this level of spending cuts. This vote was to protest the lack of leadership and foresight by President Obama and Senator Reid. The inability to understand the seriousness and the urgency of the financial crisis their policies have led to show these men prefer the status quo of Washington rather than changing the way Washington works. The federal budget closed its books with a $1.6 trillion deficit and the inability for the President to further reduce this gap is unacceptable.”
Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
