Allen County Democratic Party hires Jack Morris as executive director
Local party member to help with outreach, operations for 2011 municipal elections, help Democrats to keep Indiana blue in 2012(April 13, 2011) – The Allen County Democratic Party has brought Jack Morris, a loyal party member and the party’s organized labor liaison, on board to serve as the party’s executive director. Morris started his duties Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
Expanding his active role in local Democratic party activities, Morris is now assisting Chairman Mike Bynum and the party’s leadership with daily operations, Get Out the Vote efforts, candidate training, outreach to the public and developing the party’s strategic plans for growth and development.
“With the municipal primary and general election this year and getting ready for 2012, I am excited to have Jack, who has been very active in the party, join the staff to strengthen our party for victory in November and beyond,” Bynum said. “Success at the local level requires great candidates, good support personnel and faithful volunteers. With Jack on board we are able to fully utilize all of those assets to help strengthen and grow the Allen County Democratic Party.”
Morris is a local attorney and ran for state senate, District 15, in 2010.
“Democrats in Allen County aren’t afraid of hard work and supporting the ideals that make our country great,” Morris said. “I am excited to help our candidates fight for good jobs, maintain the excellent quality of life we enjoy in Fort Wayne and Allen County and stand on the principles of fairness and inclusion for all.”
Earlier this year, ACDP moved to a new headquarters, at 7301 Old Decatur Road, Fort Wayne. The party is gearing up for the primary election Tuesday, May 3 and the general election Tuesday, Nov. 8.
