Stutzman Agrees to Short Term Funding Bill

(Washington, D.C. – April 9, 2011) – Tonight, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN-03) voted for H.R. 1363, the Additional Continuing Appropriations Act. The Continuing Resolution (CR) would provide discretionary funding for government operations through April 15, 2011, and reduce spending by $2 billion from current spending levels. The bill would provide short-term bridge funding for continued government operations while a bill to provide funding for the remainder of FY 2011 is considered in the House and Senate.

“I voted tonight to avert a government shutdown and ensure our servicemen and servicewomen are paid as they serve in harm’s way. As a member of the House Committee on the Budget, I hope my vote clears the way for Chairman Paul Ryan’s 2012 budget- The Path to Prosperity. This budget cuts trillions in spending and offers a roadmap for fiscal responsibility and job creation.”

Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
