Let’s Move Together to Find a Cure for Arthritis

(April 3, 2011) – The Arthritis Foundation is seeking participants in the 2011 Arthritis Walk on Sunday, May 15 at Franke Park.
The Arthritis Walk is the Arthritis Foundation’s signature fundraising event that supports public awareness and raises funds needed to find a cure for arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. It takes place in hundreds of cities nationwide, typically during Arthritis Awareness Month in May. Supporters who join the Arthritis Walk become part of Let’s Move Together, a nationwide movement led by the Arthritis Foundation that encourages people to move to prevent or treat arthritis.

The event features both a one-mile and three-mile course, with activities for the entire family. Supporters walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis, while those with arthritis wear blue hats to signify their action in taking control of their condition. In many areas, pet owners are invited to bring their leashed dogs to walk with them at the event.

To join the Let’s Move Together movement and sign up for the 2011 Arthritis Walk visit www.letsmovetogether.org or call the Arthritis Foundation at 260-672-6570
