UPDATE: Level 1 Declared Emergency Continues for Allen Co., Ft. Wayne and New Haven
A Level 1 Winter Weather Emergency Declaration remains in effect for the cities of Fort Wayne and New Haven and unincorporated portions of Allen County. A Level 1 Declaration means travel is restricted to emergency personnel only. Citizens are directed to refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans, and comply with the directions of properly identified officers. Further and more specific restrctions may be included in the disaster declaration.
All Allen County and City of Fort Wayne government offices are closed today. Only emergency personnel and essential employees should report for work.
Many of the main arteries have been plowed. However, the snow, sleet and high winds caused large snow drifts making many secondary and rural roads impassable. Allen County remains under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 p.m. today.
Residents of the City and County can call 311 with questions or needs.
Conditions will be monitored and an update will be provided later this morning.
