Press release from Congressman Marlin Stutzman’s office:
Stutzman Congratulates States for Healthcare Ruling
(Winona Lake, IN) – Congressman Stutzman (IN-03) issued the following statement after Judge Vinson sided with 26 states in ruling Obamacare unconstitutional:
“Yesterday’s decision reinforces what most Hoosiers believe; the health care overhaul goes too far and is unconstitutional.” Stutzman said. “I consider this law to be unconstitutional, it is unimaginable to force Americans to buy a product, and I will continue to work toward replacing this burdensome and over-reaching law with solutions that provide access to affordable coverage.”
To improve availability of quality healthcare Congressman Stutzman has co-sponsored HR 436, which repeals the excise tax on medical devices. “This change to Obamacare will get Americans access to the best quality medical devices in the world, many of which are made here in Northeast Indiana, by keeping prices low and innovation high. HR 436 also will protect jobs in Indiana’s Third District by helping to keep the manufacturers here in the Orthopedics Capital of the World.”
Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
