I’ve received a media advisory from the Paula Hughes For Mayor campaign.
It reads in part:
Rise and Shine Fort Wayne, It’s Groundhog Day!
Hughes to Unveil Change in Status Quo on February 2ndWednesday, February 2nd is Groundhog Day. Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell pointed out the need to change perspective in the same-named 1993 blockbuster hit.
In that same vein, former Allen County Council President and Republican candidate for Mayor of Fort Wayne Paula Hughes will be unveiling her approach for leading the city away from the brink of fiscal crisis. Her announcement will feature a distinct departure from doing the same thing over, and over, and over again.
Even without an appearance from Punxsutawney Phil, Paula Hughes will be making an important announcement regarding the fiscal future of Fort Wayne this Wednesday.
I’m not sure if this is a public event or only for the media, which may be a moot point if we end up with 18″ of snow on the ground and blowing winds. Poor Punxsutawney Phil may be buried alive!  Check back here around noon Wednesday and I’ll hopefully have more information.
