Allen County Right to Life to host 37th annual March for Life
Congressman Marlin Stutzman and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller to address hundreds of pro-life advocates at the 37th annual March for Life
Allen County Right to Life will host the 37th Annual Rally and March for Life at 12 Noon, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Scottish Rite Center. The Rally will feature comments from Third District US Congressman Marlin Stutzman and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller along with other pro-life elected officials. The keynote address will be delivered by Father John Raphael. He is the principal of St. Augustine High School, in New Orleans. Father Raphael is known nationally for the powerful speech he gave at the pro-life rally held at the University of Notre Dame the day President Barack Obama gave the commencement address and received an honorary degree. Convinced of the need for active witness for the protection and defense of the sanctity of life as a college student and seminarian, Fr. Raphael has dedicated himself to bringing more African Americans into the pro-life movement.
Allen County Right to Life Executive Director Cathie Humbarger said, “It is a privilege to host the largest pro-life rally in the state of Indiana marking the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision on January 22, 1973. We will continue to gather for this event until no more babies die and no more mothers cry.” Ms. Humbarger will be available for comment prior to the event.
After the rally, March for Life advocates will march through downtown Fort Wayne and gather at the Federal Building on Harrison Street to hear women and men from the Silent No More Awareness Campaign speak about the harmful physical and emotional consequences they suffered as a result of their abortion decisions.
