Fort Wayne District Releases December Statistics

(January 24, 2011) – The Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne have released statistics for the month of December 2010. Troopers issued a total of 1640 traffic citations and 2754 traffic warnings. Troopers also arrested 66 drunk drivers and made 220 criminal arrests.

  • Traffic Citations Issued – 1,640
  • Traffic Warnings Issued – 2,754
  • Seatbelt Citations – 190
  • Child Restraint Citations – 18
  • Speeding Trucks Over 10,000 Pounds – 77
  • Criminal Arrests – 220
  • Drunk Driving Arrests – 66

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Fort Wayne Post worked 14 new cases and made 35 criminal arrests, all of which were felony arrests. There were a total of 121 cases drawn by both troopers and detectives.

The four K-9 teams of Troopers Shultz (Gunnar), Shenefield (Beau), Neuenschwander (Smokey) and Carroll (Deezle) had between them, a total of 19 searches which yielded 19 arrests, and assisted other agencies on 12 occasions. They also seized two grams of ecstasy, five grams of cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana and $539.00 in U.S. currency.

The Indiana State Police Post in Fort Wayne serves the citizens in the following 11 northeast Indiana Counties: Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley.
