Jiffy Lube campaign raises $1.1 million for American Heart Association
More than $17,000 raised by Indiana stores including Fort Wayne(October 28, 2010) – Jiffy Lube recently presented the American Heart Association with a $1.1 million check benefiting the Go Red For Women movement. More than 1,700 Jiffy Lube service centers, including 49 in Indiana, participated in the Jiffy Lube Maintenance Partners for Life campaign, which raised awareness and funds for heart disease prevention. The campaign ran in February and March.
Including this year’s contributions, Jiffy Lube has donated more than $3.4 million to the cause since 2008. Funds were raised by asking customers to make a $3 donation at participating service centers. In return, customers received a Maintenance Partners for Life book with more than $100 in savings.
“We’re very pleased with the results of the program,” said Steve Sanner, owner of 36 Jiffy Lube locations in Indiana, including Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. “Thanks to our valued customers we’ll be able to make a big impact in the fight against heart disease.”
Indiana Jiffy Lube stores raised more than $17,000 as part of the program. All of the money raised by Jiffy Lube goes back to the local market where it was raised. In Fort Wayne, Jiffy Lube raised $1,875. Other key markets included Indianapolis ($13,000), South Bend/Elkhart ($850) and Lafayette ($800).
For one day in February, Jiffy Lube mechanics at the Coldwater and Coliseum store location wore red dresses as part of their fundraising efforts.
