Fort Wayne Area Youth For Christ hosts largest fundraiser of year to impact Northeast Indiana youth
Additional rallies in Huntington and Whitley Counties on tap for Nov. 8 and 18

(October 26, 2010) – Award-winning Christian singer Natalie Grant and authors of Mistaken Identity, Newell and Colleen Cerak, will be the headliners for the Fort Wayne Youth For Christ (YFC) Allen County “2010 Piece Rally” at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Tuesday, November 9, at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with coffee and dessert available.

This is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, and admission is free. In addition to the special entertainment, the program will emphasize the impact YFC is having at area schools and lives that have been changed. The Piece Rally will culminate with the all-important question: “Are you the missing piece YFC needs to impact Northeast Indiana’s youth?”

Two additional YFC “Piece Rallies” are scheduled for Huntington and Whitley Counties on November 8 and 18.

Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ is one of the top 10 ministry centers in the U.S., serving students in 9 high schools, 14 middle schools, 2 juvenile facilities and Primetime (urban center) in Allen, Huntington and Whitley Counties. More than 6,100 students participate annually. The ministry is solely supported by donations of individuals, churches, corporations and foundations.

Newell and Colleen Cerak are the authors of Mistaken Identity, chronicling their journey after a tragic car accident in the spring of 2006 that took the lives of five Taylor University students, including—they thought—the life of their daughter, Whitney Cerak. For five weeks, she was believed to be another young woman who was also involved in the accident, Laura Van Ryn. The Ceraks have been featured on numerous media outlets, including Oprah, MSNBC and TODAY show.
