An e-mail from Fort Wayne 912 and The Liberty Coalition:

Please join us for a public forum on “What Happened to Public Education?” at the Allen County Main Library Theatre from 7:00-9:00 this Tuesday night! This is free and open to the public.

The forum will cover the origins of our public school system, the changes that have been made through federal funding and what parents need to know about the future direction of public schools.

Guest speakers Ric Runestad and Kevin Howell will discuss their views of the federal government’s impact on our society through public education.

Learn about the history of public education and gain insight into the major differences between private, charter, public and home schools.

While our forum’s intention is not to focus on Obama’s agenda in our public schools, we will cover some of this issue.

We must determine what is truly a “safe” school relative to American freedom. We must not allow Kevin Jennings’ (Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools and Gay, Lesbian and Straight education Network founder)”safe school” program to determine what is “safe”.

More than $100 billion of federal taxpayers’ money is going to “education” and likely pressure our students to become interns of OFA.

A quote from Phhyllis Schlafley’s report entitled Dangerous Projects in Public Schools reads:

Recruiting Kids for Obama’s Agenda

President Barack Obama’s budget has added more than $100 billion of federal taxpayers’ money to what is called “education,”….

Obama’s internet outreach during his campaign, Obama for America, has been renamed Organizing for America (OFA) in order to recruit students to join a cult of Obama and become activists for his goals.

These interns will be given an intensive nine-week training course using comprehensive lesson plans. Assigned readings include Saul Alinsky’s notorious Rules for Radicals, Stir It Up: Lessons from Community Organizing and Advocacy by the left-wing activist Rinku Sen, and particular sections of Dreams From My Father dealing with Obama’s days as a community organizer in Chicago.

The sign-up sheet for Organizing for America starts with this instruction: “Organizing for America, the successor organization to Obama for America, is building on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda of change.” The application explains that this national internship program is “working to make the change we fought so hard for in 2008 a reality in 2010 and beyond.”

The sign-up sheet states that the “purpose” of training these students is “to build community” among the interns and teach them “to be leaders in OFA’s organizing work.” After all, Barack Obama knows a great deal about being a community organizer; that was his only job before he got into politics.

Please bring family and friends and church members. We must do the work of educating ourselves about our education system!

Also, a letter forwarded from a Tea Party member is below. This letter explains a public access TV show airing Monday night live and confronts the issue with Associated Churches and the ACLU. Please email, call and pray about this situation. This outlines all the more reason to become informed and get involved.

Have a safe weekend if you are traveling to rallies. If you attend rallies, please consider the work that must be done in addition. These rallies keep a flame of patriotism burning but it is not enough. We must do the work of reaching our communities and educating the electorate on all fronts.

Hope to see you Tuesday night!

May God bless America!

  1. This is fanaticism at its best! Reading this reaffirms the evil that is in the heart of America. The United States is no longer united. It’s this kind of rhetoric that further divides us. It’s painfully clear that no one is interested in working together for the common good. We jump on Tea Party bandwagons attempting to reignite patriotism. What’s there to love in a country so divided?
