Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center to host events
(July 29, 2010) – Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center will host several upcoming events. The programs will be held at the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center on the Parkview North campus, entrance 4.
Answers from a Cancer Expert Each Friday in August (6, 13, 20, and 27) from 1-3 p.m. in the Cancer Center lobby
Receive easy-to-understand, practical answers to your cancer questions in one-on-one Q&A sessions with Nancy Ehmke, clinical nurse specialist, Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ehmke has been a nurse at Parkview for 27 years. The service is aimed at helping patients and others feel comfortable asking questions in a casual setting.
Cancer 101 – What is Cancer? 11 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, Aug. 10, third floor of the Cancer Center Learn what makes cancer cells different from normal cells. Discover how cancer is diagnosed and find out about the many types. A brief overview of treatments is provided. The class will be led by Nancy Ehmke, who presents information in straightforward language, and questions are always welcome.
Body Image and Regeneration
11 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Aug. 12, third floor of the Cancer Center
Linda Kerr, nurse practitioner, Parkview Women’s Health Center, will lead the session.
Benefits of Massage
11 a.m.-noon, Thursday, Aug. 19, third floor of the Cancer Center
Julie Miller, massage therapist, Parkview Hospital, will lead the session.
