Press release from the City of Fort Wayne:
Mayor welcomes public to Aug. 9 “Night In”
Residents invited to set appointments to talk with Mayor Henry
Fort Wayne, Ind. – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry will again welcome Fort Wayne residents to his office for the third Mayor’s Night In of 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9.
Fort Wayne residents are invited to schedule an appointment to meet with the Mayor in his ninth-floor office in the City-County Building to discuss their concerns and share their comments about City government or services.
“It continues to be important for me to meet with the people I serve, whether it be on my neighborhood walks or at Mayor’s Night In,” Mayor Henry said. “These sessions are especially productive, where we are often able to come to a resolution over a variety of situations. It’s amazing what can happen in just 10 minutes when you get the right people together.”
Fort Wayne residents can call the Mayor’s Public Information Office at 427-1120 to schedule a 10-minute block of time that evening to talk with the Mayor and members of his staff.
Times will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Although walk-ins are welcome, appointments will ensure time with the Mayor. Anyone who has had a Mayor’s Night In or Mayor’s Night Out appointment in the last year will be placed on a waiting list to give other residents the opportunity to meet with Mayor Henry.
The Mayor has held these quarterly open houses since taking office in 2008. He has also taken these events on the road, hosting Mayor’s Nights Out at various locations around the city.
