5K Life/Eternity Walk/Run April 17
There is no fee for entering this event(April 9, 2010) The SBA Academy, Step Up to Fitness Studio and the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring a FREE 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, April 17. Registration starts at 9 am and the race begins at 10 am at Weisser Park Youth Center, 802 Eckart Street.
Anyone age 5 or older may enter this 3.2 mile competition, which starts at Weisser Center, loops at Cooper Community Center on Creighton Street, and ends back at Weisser Center.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be distributed according to age and gender.
The word SBA (SAY-ba) is a Kemetic (Egyptian) term that refers to teachings, wisdom and study. The SBA Academy assists PK – 12th grade youth in language arts, mathematics and African and African American culture and history. The SBA Academy meets Tuesdays during the school year from 5 pm – 7: 15 pm.
