Three Rivers Festival Button Contest Winner

(February 3, 2010) Fort Wayne Newspapers Three Rivers Festival is excited to announce the winner of our 42nd annual Souvenir Button design contest. Over 30 excellent and creative entries were received to illustrate this year’s Festival theme, “Fun in the Sun!” .

The winning design was submitted by Jimmie Trotter, III. Mr. Trotter is a student at Anthis Career Center. Karen Gillie, the instructor for the Entrepreneurship and Graphic Design class encouraged all students to compete in the design contest. Students researched previous button designs and considered this year’s theme, as they prepared submissions.

Mr. Trotter is from Fort Wayne and graduated from Elmhurst High School. He plans to attend the International Business College for an Associates Degree in Graphic Design.

Mr. Trotter’s design will be used extensively throughout the Three Rivers Festival print and electronic advertising, and will be showcased on the 2010 Festival Souvenir Button. He will also receive a VIP bundle of Three Rivers Festival merchandise and the opportunity to participate in the Opening Day Parade and Art in the Park.

The 2010 TRF Festival Souvenir Button will soon be available for purchase at many Fort Wayne locations. Button sales help support many Festival events including the opening day Parade, Art in the Park, Children’s Fest, Super Seniors Day and the
Fireworks Finale.
