.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES THIS AFTERNOON IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST ACROSS TEXAS ON MONDAY AND THEN CURVE NORTHEAST AND INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES INTO THE OHIO VALLEY ON TUESDAY. SNOW ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO OVERSPREAD THE AREA LATE MONDAY NIGHT AND MAY BECOME HEAVY ON TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT. ON TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY THE LOW IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY AND SHIFT TO THE EAST COAST. THIS WILL RESULT IN SNOW TAPERING OFF TO SNOW SHOWERS ACROSS THE AREA BY WEDNESDAY…WITH GREATEST COVERAGE OVER NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE AREA DUE TO LAKE MICHIGAN ENHANCEMENT. STRONG NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE NEWLY FALLEN SNOW. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FROM THIS STORM ARE EXPECTED TO BE 6 TO 9Â INCHES SOUTH OF A ROCHESTER TO DEFIANCE LINE…WITH 9 TO 12 INCHES TO THE NORTH.

SNOW SHOULD TAPER TO SNOW SHOWERS ON WEDNESDAY WITH SNOW SHOWERS MOST NUMEROUS OVER NORTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA. NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY… CAUSING BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
