Press release from Parkview Health:

Parkview to offer outpatient infusion clinic at Cancer Center

(Wednesday, January 13, 2010) Beginning Monday, Parkview’s Comprehensive Cancer Center will offer an outpatient infusion clinic for ambulatory patients.  Parkview officials today led a media tour inside the new clinic, which will provide outpatient IV hydration, chemotherapy and blood transfusions. The clinic is designed to give ambulatory outpatients comfort and privacy in an accessible location.

Outpatient Infusion Clinic highlights:

  • 3,352 square feet
  • 12 individual patient bays
  • Centrally located nursing station staffed by registered nurses with extensive experience in oncology and IV infusions
  • Welcoming, healing environment for patients with large window for light, space for a visitor to sit with a patient, wood laminate flooring
  • Most of the patients initially will be people who need to receive a blood transfusion or who are unable to receive chemotherapy in their physician’s office due to insurance reasons

Non-ambulatory patients will continue to receive infusion services at Parkview Hospital’s Randallia campus.

The Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center opened on the Parkview North campus in February 2008. The facility is focused on patient-centered care with easy in-and-out access, a streamlined registration/scheduling process and seamless flow for patients, all within a healing environment.
