Press release from the Convention & Visitors Bureau:

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4-8:00 p.m.; Friday-Sunday, Noon-5:00 p.m.

There is still plenty of time to enjoy the second annual “Holiday Houses for Habitat” showcase at the Grand Wayne Convention Center. This enchanting display is open every day through Dec. 23. The new display for 2009 includes expanded villages, exciting animation and model trains.

This event is Indiana’s largest display of Department 56 ceramic snow village pieces. The ultimate goal is to raise money and awareness for the mission of Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity. It is also an opportunity to offer a family-friendly attraction, for visitors and residents alike, throughout the holiday season.

“It is exciting for those of us from Fort Wayne Habitat to be able to offer the Holiday Houses for Habitat event to the public free of charge. We encourage you to come and enjoy Holiday Houses for Habitat and have peace among you and your family this holiday season.”

—Carol Keplar, Executive Director, Fort Wayne Habitat for Humanity.

Individuals and businesses can donate at various levels or make free-will donations while strolling through the showcase. Donations can be made at the event, at any Anne’s Hallmark Shop or online.

The event is FREE to the public. Musical entertainment will be provided each Sunday afternoon. Upcoming performances include:

December 13
Three Rivers Jenbe Ensemble, 1-2:00 pm

December 20
American Legion Post 47 Concert Band, 2-3:00 pm
Tuba Christmas, 4-5:00 pm
