Press release from the County:

County Career Fair connects jobseekers with service agencies
More than 500 attend first-ever event

Organizers of the first-ever Allen County Career and Services Fair said the turnout for today’s event exceeded expectations.

The three-hour fair at the Fort Wayne campus of Brown Mackie College drew more than 500 people who learned about employment and volunteer opportunities available at some 50 area non-profit organizations. The fair was co-sponsored by Brown Mackie and the Human Resources Department of Allen County government.

“We are happy that so many people who are job hunting had the chance to attend this fair and connect with these community service agencies,” said County Commissioner Nelson Peters. “Hopefully, this was a valuable experience for those who came and the organizations which participated.”

“Our college is excited by today’s turnout and is looking for our partnership with Allen County government to continue to grow,” said Tony Davis, Director of Career Services with Brown Mackie. Davis added that Brown Mackie and Allen County are considering making the Career and Services Fair an annual event.
