- Friday, August 21, Buckwheat Zydeco – Buck is back and celebrating 35 years in the business! Contemporary zydeco’s most popular performer, accordionist Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural was the natural successor to the throne vacated by the death of his mentor Clifton Chenier; infusing his propulsive party music with strains of rock and R&B.
- Friday, August 28, The Dynamites Featuring Charles Walker – From the get go, the spirit of James Brown is in the house. Nevertheless it is worth inserting a disclaimer: habituated ears will be caught off guard. There’s something new in the mix and The Dynamites definitely have their own thing going on. Bill Elder, the band’s composer, guitarist and producer has made sure of that. He’s also made sure that nothing was left to chance in creating The Dynamites’ sound.
Northside Pool, E. State Blvd. and Parnell Ave. —The last day Northside pool will be open for the season is Saturday, August 22, 12:30 – 5 pm.
