Budget goes to Governor

The Associated Press is reporting that the Indiana Senate has passed the budget bill which now goes before Governor Mitch Daniels for signature.

The Senate voted 34-16 today in favor of the plan, which was passed earlier in the day by the House in a 62-37 vote.  Republican leaders are saying the Governor will support the budget.  It will spend an estimated $27.8 billion over the next two years, but will protect the state’s reserves.
