Tour the Camp Scott Wetlands
This Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pmFort Wayne is home to a constructed wetlands that helps to reduce flooding in nearby neighborhoods and helps to improve water qaulity. The Camp Scott wetlands collects rain water runoff from streets in several southeast Fort Wayne neighbohoods when it rains. The rain water runoff filters through the wetlands before it is released into the Maumee River.
City Utilities invites you to visit the wetlands on June 27 to see native wildflowers in bloom, to observe the wildlife that lives in the wetlands and to learn more about why wetlands are crucial for flood control and a cleaner environment.
