TMZ.com first broke the story that singer Michael Jackson had suffered a heart attack.
They are now reporting he has died at 50.
While we didn’t always understand or condone, you have to admit, he was a brilliant artist in his time. Â RIP, Michael Jackson.

What about Ed McMahon who did not merit any mention on any of the major television stations, including NBC where he appeared regularly for many years on the Tonight Show?
We’ve been more prepared for Farrah Fawcett’s passing through the various news stories and television special, so while tragic, we’d at least had the knowledge it was coming. Jackson’s death, out of the clear blue, was sudden and jolting. It was this unexpectedness that warranted a post on the blog, I felt.
