From the official website:
The Parkview Cycling Festival is a one-of-a-kind event. Competitive cyclists from around the country will compete on a six-corner course surrounding Fort Wayne’s new $30 million Parkview Field. It’s a venue that is both racer and fan friendly. Cheer for the riders along the course or hang out in the stadium and catch the action live on the second largest jumbo screen in all of Minor League Baseball. It’s a festival of fun for the entire family, complete with concerts courtesy of the Downtown Improvement District and a Kids Zone featuring an awesome climbing wall and inflatables.
It all begins one hour after the Fort Wayne Newspapers Three Rivers Festival Parade, which draws 60,000 people. If you’re racing, be prepared to compete in sold-out fields for one of the largest crowds of the year. The first race is off at 1pm and ends with the TinCaps Classic Pro 1, 2 & 3 hitting the course under the lights at 8pm. Other races will feature Elite Women, the Vorderman VW Juniors Race, and a first-of-its-kind Men of Steel Race. All the bikes in this race will be classics, much like vintage auto racing.
The racing will be fast and furious. New asphalt, sweeping corners and slight hills will make for an exciting course that should favor the breakaways and sprinters alike. Don’t miss your chance to get up close and personal with athletes and their bikes, hang out with
friends both old and new, and enjoy the day.
