Press release from the TinCaps:

Parkview Field Menu to Offer Tremendous Variety
TinCaps offerings to include numerous “hot-off-the-grill” items, “healthy choice” offerings

Anticipation has been growing for over a year now as fans anxiously await the opening of Parkview Field in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. Many of the ballparks unique features have been on display, including a wide variety of seating, hospitality and entertainment options. Equally anticipated are the food options that will be available at Parkview Field when it hosts its first TinCaps game on Thursday, April 16th.

“We know fans love to eat at the ballpark. Parkview Field was designed with that in mind.,” said Mike Nutter, TinCaps Team President. “We have had three primary goals for foodservice. First, we wanted to provide the highest quality food—fresh and hot-off-the-grill or out of the oven. Second, we wanted to provide as much variety as possible so that there is something for everyone. Fans can have a different food experience each time they come to the ballpark. Third, we wanted to make the experience of getting food as easy as possible. With over 50 points of service, four seating areas with wait-service, plus dedicated foodservice for our three picnic areas, wait times will be minimized and the level of service at Parkview Field will be unparalleled.”

Fans will never be more than a few steps from food options at Parkview Field. Located along the main concourse will be four full-service concessions stands with 25 points of sale. The menus in each will contain all of the ballpark favorites, including hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pretzels, peanuts, nachos and chips. But the menu continues to expand with steak sandwiches, chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwiches, and a variety of salads.

The food choices don’t stop at the concessions stands. Located throughout the ballpark will be twenty-three stand alone foodservice carts, each with their own specialty menu. Fans can enjoy a freshly made burrito, a philly cheesesteak, BBQ chicken, pork or beef, a personalized sandwich or wrap, and rib eye steak sandwiches, just to name a few. Parkveiw Field will also offer the U.S. Foodservice Center Field Grill. Located behind the batter’s eye, the Centerfield Grill will feature premium items such as grilled jumbo turkey legs, half-pound Stock Yard burgers and BBQ ribs by the rack.

Fans will wash down their food with Pepsi soft drinks, fresh squeezed lemonade and nearly 30 different beer selections. Specialty drinks will also be available at Parkview Field’s three bars—the Granite City Bar behind home plate, the Centerfield Bar (located between the Centerfield Grill and the Amphitheater) and the bar located in the Suite Lounge.

Service will also be a focus at Parkview Field, with many seating areas providing wait service and customizable menus. The Scout seats and Field Boxes (as well as the club seats and suites) will offer full wait service, where fans can order off a specialty menu and receive their food without ever having to leave their seat.

Party areas, including J. Chapman’s Suite Level Loft, Treetops Rooftop Party Area, and the Appleseed Picnic Pavilion each have a dedicated foodservice area used solely by the guests ticketed for that area. Groups attending games in those area will have their food served to them fresh off the grill.

The TinCaps will also be offering healthy food choices developed in partnership with Parkview Health System. In addition to the healthy sandwiches, wraps and salads that will be available, Parkview Field will also feature:

  • Vegetarian burgers
  • Salads
  • Hummus and grilled pita chips
  • Freshly made sandwiches
  • Apples
  • Sweet potato fries
  • Freshly popped popcorn
  • Freshly squeezed lemonade
  • Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches

The TinCaps will also take advantage of the natural tie-in with their apple logo by offering a wide variety of apple items on the menu. Apple slices, apple sauce, apple crisp, apple cider and apple martinis will all be among the items available during the 2009 season at Parkview Field.
