There are several events this week of note. Â
Delayed Liquor License Vote
Monday, at 9:30 am, the s  meets to discuss the Fort Wayne Redevelopment Authority’s 3-way Liquor License application for Parkview Field.  The decision was not made at their meeting on February 23, 2009 because a quorum of members had not assembled and John B. Kalb had filed a remonstrance against the permit.  At tomorrow’s meeting, John will be allowed to testify and explain his reasons for his remonstrance.  The local board will then make a decision to either approve or deny the application which will then be forwarded to the state for approval.  The next State Board meeting is March 17th.  Read John’s original post on the February 23rd meeting and Ben Lanka’s article.

Charis House at the Plan Commission
The Charis House plans will be given a public hearing at tomorrow’s Fort Wayne Plan Commission meeting. Â The meeting begins at 6:00 pm in room 126 of the City County Building. Â The Plan Commission will then meet on March 16, 2009 to vote on the site development plan.
Â
Charis House at the City Council?
The Charis House matter may appear on the City Council’s agenda this Tuesday for a final vote on their vacation request of Fairmount Place. Â The matter was held indefinetly at last Tuesday’s Council meeting to allow for additional property owners to be contacted and other information to be gathered. Â If the vacation is rejected, it would make this public hearing a waste of time as the Charis House would have to redesign their project. Â In addition, the Charis House would also have to wait at least one year before being able to approach the City Council with another vacation request.
