Just an update – this weekend I am going to be checking out some different themes for this blog. Â So, if you see something out of the ordinary, yes, you’re on the right blog. Â The problem is that not every theme will do what I want out of the box. Â There are some definite things I am going to be looking for, so stay tuned!
I know how frustrating it can be looking for a new theme … I am not totally happy with the one I adopted a few months ago and am actually considering a magazine type theme so that I might be able to expand my writing/posts.

Actually, I enjoy your new graphics and think it looks pretty good, Joe. I am looking for a two column format. I’d prefer one that has the links, widgets, etc on the left and posts on the right, with some sort of delineation between posts. I also like those themes that incorporate putting the date into a calendar-like image. I’ve looked at one, but right out of the box couldn’t get it to do the header the way I liked and the posts are on the left. So, I’ll keep looking, or may even revisit this one particular theme to see if I can make it work.

I would use the “Welcome frame” to briefly describe the site’s mission.

Great suggestion. I think what I’m going to do is highlight a current downtown event in that area. If there’s not an event I want to highlight, then I’ll be leaving it as the site’s mission. Great idea – and thank you for the comment. I really appreciated it and apologize for not responding sooner!
