On October 20, 2022, at 0130 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was patrolling the area of the 1100 block of Fayette Drive when they heard shots fired.

Today, Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry and Fire Chief Eric Lahey announced that the Fort Wayne Fire Department had been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to purchase new radios.
