Plans highlighted for more than $41M in 2025 neighborhood infrastructure upgrades
Mayor Sharon Tucker and Public Works Division leaders today announced $41.4 million in neighborhood infrastructure improvements will occur throughout the community this construction season.
Parnell Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project ribbon cutting
Today, the City of Fort Wayne’s Public Works Division celebrated the reopening of the Parnell Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Traffic Alert: Engle Road closed between Ardmore and Bluffton until 9/17/*2025
Beginning today, Engle Road will be fully closed between Ardmore Avenue and Bluffton Road at the railroad tracks due to emergency repairs by Norfolk Southern.
Trail sections to be closed for sealing
The Towpath Trail from Covington Road to Smith Road will be closed today to allow crews to reseal the entire length and width of that section of the trail.

There are several upcoming projects that will require lane restrictions and closures throughout Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Traffic Alert: Creighton Avenue to close 9/8/2025
Due to private development work, Creighton Avenue between Hanna Street and Weisser Park Avenue will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on September 8, 2025.
Traffic Alert: Portage Boulevard to be closed for one month
Due to a City of Fort Wayne intersection realignment project, Portage Boulevard will be closed between Taylor Street and Hawthorne Road beginning September 2, 2025, and lasting for approximately one month.
Traffic Alert Update: Paulding Road closing between Hoagland and Noll – 9/2/2025
Beginning September 2, 2025, the Paulding Road Reconstruction project will require a full closure of Paulding Road between Hoagland Avenue and Noll Avenue.
Traffic Alert: Four-way stop implemented at Hoagland Avenue and Pontiac Street
Beginning August 27, 2025, a new four-way stop sign will be implemented at the intersection of Hoagland Avenue and Pontiac Street.
