Conley announces bid for County Council

Mike Conley announced that he would run for Allen County Council’s 2nd District on the Democratic ticket.

“I do consider myself A fiscally Conservative Democrat,” said Conley, “and I think we can all agree that now, more than ever, we need to be frugal with taxpayers dollars.”

Conley, who lives in Fort Wayne, was raised in rural Northeast Indiana and is concerned about the smaller communities in his district and believes they need a voice. Conley stated “I relate to small communities and want to make it clear that it’s very important to me that small communities like Grabill, Woodburn and yes, Harlan, have a voice in our community.”

Conley, a well known local musician, holds a Bachelors degree in Interpersonal Communication from IPFW with minors in both Philosophy and Psychology. He is a self-employed business broker and also runs a family business in Angola. He is experienced in Real Estate, purchasing and manufacturing.

“911 consolidation, the Renaissance building, bridge funds, Public safety, wheel taxes, infrastructure, tax caps, Townships, along with an incredibly volatile economy……these are all topics of discussion that will affect us and our children for many years to come – They’re big issues and I am up for the challenge to face them,” said Conley.
