Fright Night is only 1 week away!
Join us for A Night to Dismember!!!
(October 12, 2017) – Fort Wayne’s most anticipated Halloween event full of frightful family fun is back! The 10th annual Fright Night Downtown is Saturday, October 21. With 27 ghoulishly great activities for people to enjoy throughout the day and evening, Fright Night has something for everyone!
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of Fright Night and we have an amazing day of activities planned Downtown!” said Downtown Improvement District President, Bill Brown. “All the partners work very hard to produce an experience you won’t find anywhere else and every year it just keeps getting better!”
Before you join the ranks of the undead in this year’s special edition of the “Zombie Walk” don’t forget to check out the pre-parade activities all around Downtown. Then head to ACPL Plaza for all the 10th anniversary mayhem! Sign up for a chance to take part in this year’s Brain (cake) Eating Contest, get “zombified” in the Zombie Machine, strike a memorable pose in the Zombie Photo Booooth, play games like the MetroPCS Frightfully Fun Football Toss and enjoy entertainment by local performance groups, including Halloween-themed performances by K. Monique’s Dance Studio, Plum Dingo and The Fort Wayne Funk (Fright) Orchestra. Then at 5:30pm we kick off the Zombie Walk— your chance to be part of the biggest zombie parade around as it crawls through the streets of Downtown Fort Wayne!
New Participants This Year:
DIA Fort Wayne: The USF Performing Art Center will be transformed to celebrate the Day of the Dead/DÃa de los Muertos. Admission is FREE! There will be live music, over 10 of areas best taco vendors, a beer garden, face painting, games, lucha libre wrestlers and ofrendas (elaborate offerings dedicated to the spirit of the departed). Artists will be onsite to help turn you into a Calaca (Spanish word for skeleton). Enter to win the Best Calaca/Skeleton Costume Contest.
Trunk or Treat Soiree: The Central Branch YMCA will be holding a trunk or treat in their parking lot on the corner of Washington and Barr Street. Join them for fun, games, and treats.
Zombunni Ice SCREAM Social: Follow the ZomBunni to Main Street for spooky treats and Zombie thrills. Take a photo with our ZomBunni and enter to win a $200 cash prize for BEST Zombie Costume. ALL AGES WELCOME!
Dead Comics Comedy Battle: Come see your favorite comics that are no longer with us come back from the grave! They will be performing their classic bit. Then, they will go head to rotting head in a battle of their most soul crushing roast jokes. Event will be 21+ and feature adult humor. This show will not be for the faint of heart!
