Water Rescue
(February 13, 2017) – Fort Wayne Fire Department units responded to a report of a man in the St. Joseph River behind the 5600 block of Foxcross Court. Initial units arrived within three minutes of notification, establishing multiple vantage points to quickly determine the locations of the victime. Crews extricated the unresponsive victim within seven minutes of arrival.
Fort Wayne Fire Department units immediately began treating the patient on shore and assisted the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority with treatment in route to the hospital. The FWFD received outstanding assistance from the Fort Wayne Police Department and the incident continues to be under investigation by the DNR.
