Critical Shooting Investigation

On Friday, 5/13/2016, at approximately 2:55 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to 700 Broadway, St. Joseph Hospital, reference a shooting victim that arrived at the emergency room. The male/adult victim appeared to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s) to his neck. A physician determined the victim was in critical condition and he was immediately transported to another local hospital for medical treatment.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was driven to the hospital and dropped off at the emergency room entrance. The driver of the vehicle that transported the victim to the hospital left the hospital prior to the police arriving.
It is unknown where the shooting occurred and there is no suspect information to provide at this time. Detectives hope to gather more information once they are able to interview the victim
