Bridge of Grace names Rena Bradley Community Development Coordinator for Southeast Neighborhood

(February 11, 2016) – Officials at Bridge of Grace Compassionate Ministries Center are pleased to announce the appointment of Rena Bradley to the position of Community Development Coordinator. She has over a decade of experience in the fields of architecture and community development.

Ms. Bradley, who is relocating from Detroit Michigan, will fill a role with the organization to facilitate community development planning in order to identify and establish development opportunities and oversee all community development initiatives in the Mount Vernon Park Neighborhood for Bridge of Grace. These initiatives will be both cultural and environmental and include economic, housing, social and educational programs. She will also be Identifying and developing formal and informal leaders in the community to assist in those efforts.

She will also spearhead the creation of a new Christ Centered Community Development Corporation to formally organize a partnership of area organizations to collaborate in the community development process.

Her past work experience includes four years in Washington DC as Architectural Project Coordinator working on Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, considered a “world class” healthcare facility by the Base Realignment and Closure division of the Department of Defense.

Then in Detroit, Michigan she served as a Community Development Project Manager while earning the designation of Detroit Revitalization Fellow. As a team member,took part in $17 Million Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Grants.

Rev. Javier Mondragon, Bridge of Grace CEO says, “We feel blessed to have someone with the knowledge, skills, and abilities as does Rena. Our grass roots movement in southeast Fort Wayne will need a creative facilitator with multi-faceted perspectives . Rena has those qualities. Recently she was chosen as one of 156 finalists of 4500 applicants to be invited to apply for a Knight Foundation grant.”

She graduated from Howard University’s School of Architecture and has been active in the American Institute of Architects.

Ms. Bradley will be living in the community in which she serves her fellow neighbors.
