News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, North Clinton Street
(January 28, 2016) – Fort Wayne Fire Department crews were dispatched to the 2500 block of North Clinton Street on the report of a structure fire. First units arrived within 2 minutes of dispatch to find fire showing from an exterior chimney. The occupants of the home had been alerted by a neighbor and had already evacuated the home. Crews extinguished the fire that was located on the exterior with little damage inside. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.
