A Holiday Feast for the Eyes
HolidayFest Holiday Window Decorating Contest
(October 22, 2015) – HolidayFest in Downtown Fort Wayne is always the center of holiday activity in the region, and now this year, the Downtown Improvement District is adding another opportunity for holiday fun that is sure to become a tradition. The Downtown Holiday Window Decorating Contest is the chance for any Downtown business, organization, restaurant, etc. to join in the holiday cheer by decorating their window. Adding to the spirit of the season is the decorating theme: Yesteryear.
Participation in the contest is completely free. Decorators must simply have their window complete by Wednesday, November 25th—Night of Lights. While thousands of people flock to Downtown to see Santa and His Reindeer and the other lighting displays lit up for the season, they will be able to walk from one festive window to another only multiplying the magic of the evening. Voting for the windows will be online starting Night of Lights and end Monday, December 14th. Voters will automatically be entered to win a Downtown gift card.
The winning window will be announced December 16th with the winner receiving a generous marketing prize package. Interested applicants should see the attached application and decorating tips. Those who can decorate but have no window space or who have window space but cannot decorate will be matched up so that everyone can participate.
