Critical Injury Crash

Details:
On Sunday, 08/02/2015, at approximately 3:17 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3300 block of South Clinton Street reference a vehicle crash with injuries. Officers arrived on scene and determined the crash involved a single vehicle. The driver and a front seat passenger were both unconscious and trapped inside the vehicle. The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived and extricated both victims from the vehicle. Both victims were transported by paramedics to a local hospital in critical condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, one of the victims was upgraded to serious condition by a physician. The second victim remains in critical condition.
Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle was traveling southbound on South Clinton Street prior to the crash. The vehicle left the east side of the roadway and struck the front porch of a residence. There were people inside the residence at the time of the crash; however, none of the residents were injured
Crash Investigators are currently collecting evidence and processing the crash scene. Investigators reported high speed was a contributing factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors. Clinton Street was closed to all southbound traffic between Dalman Avenue and Rudisill Blvd until 6:10 a.m while Investigators processed the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
