With more storms and the possibility of heavy rain showers over the next couple of days, the St. Marys River is approaching the 100 year flood levels.
In the latest update from the National Weather Service, the National Weather Service reports the level at 19.4 feet and rising. They predict the river will crest at 20.1 feet around 2 am Friday, falling below flood stage by 8 am Sunday, June 21st. However, this does not take into consideration any rainfall we will receive today. At 20.3 feet, the flood officially becomes a “100 year flood event”.
