Fatal Shooting at 1100 Fayette Drive

Victim: Adult Male
On the 25th of March, 2015 at approximately 4:19 hours Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a shooting at 1100 Fayette Dr. An adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot(s) wound was found in the drivers seat of a red dodge pickup truck in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.
The local area schools were temporarily locked down until the situation was deemed safe.
The front passenger side door of the truck was found left open. A k9 track was started and terminated a short time later. Initial reports dictate that the victim may have been shot inside his vehicle. There were shell casings located inside the truck. There were no other injuries reported at the scene.
It does not appear that this shooting is related to the other recent shootings, but it is too early to make that determination definitively. Information was still being collected at the scene, as this investigation is still in its preliminary stages.
