Critical Shooting Incident
Incident Date: 03/15/2015
Incident Time: 03:03am
Incident Location: 5629 St. Joe Rd.
Victims: Adult Male/Critical Condition and Adult Male/Good Condition
On Sunday, March 15, 2015, at 03:03am, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were working security outside of Pierre’s Nightclub, and had just finished clearing out a small fight in the parking lot as the club closed. Moments later, officers heard numerous gunshots erupt in the crowd, and made their way through hundreds of people, eventually locating two adult male victims in the parking lot in front of the Club Phoenix portion of Pierre’s. One victim was found to be in critical condition, and the other was found to be in good condition. Officers began to provide aid to the victims until medics arrived. Both males were taken to a local hospital where they remain in said conditions.
The initial information appears that some sort of disturbance took place in the south parking lot, which led to the shots being fired.
At this time it is unclear what led up to the disturbance or the shots being fired. There are currently no suspect descriptions or information, and it is too early to determine whether gang activity had anything to do with this or not. Any relationship between the victims and the shooter(s) is being investigated. It is also unknown at this time if the victims had any relation to each other. At this time no weapons have been recovered.
Detectives are canvassing the area, searching for and interviewing witnesses. Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene, searching for and collecting evidence, which includes numerous shell casings. Any businesses in the area will be contacted to see if they have video footage.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.
