Please join UAW Local 2209 Civil Rights Committee, along with organizational partners for Journey for Justice: Community Policing March and Rally on Sunday, December 7, 2014, beginning at MLK Bridge.
Journey for Justice: Community Policing March and Rally on Sunday, December 7, 2014, 2:00-4:00 pm, sponsored by the UAW Local 2209 Civil Rights Committee, in partnership with Jonathan Ray Fort Wayne Urban League, Wayne Township Trustee, Crimestoppers, Glynn Hines, City Councilman, 6th District. Other community organizations and municipal officials have been invited and all are welcome to participate.
In light of recent events in Ferguson, MO and other cities in the United States, there is a need for communities and police departments to come together and review/revise/implement strategies to collectively ensure neighborhood confidence and safety for all of our citizens. The objective of this event is to increase awareness and commitment for community and police partnerships; highlighting past, current, and future best practices in Fort Wayne.
There will a Journey for Justice: Community Policing March and Rally on Sunday, December 7, 2014, 2:00-4:00 pm. This event will convene at the MLK Bridge (north end) and march to the Allen County Courthouse (corner of Clinton Ave and Berry St.). Various community organizations and municipal officials will speak on current policies/practices and recommendations for the future. The Call to Action is for everyone to be involved!
